ChatGPT picks 3 best cryptocurrencies to buy in April
Cryptocurrency Mar 31, 2026 Share
Across the board, financial markets are facing high volatility heading into April, with most sectors – with energy being a notable exception – suffering significant losses through March. Despite the situation, however, the artificial intelligence (AI) of ChatGPT believes there are strong buying opportunities in the cryptocurrency market in the month ahead.
Specifically, while the benchmark S&P 500 stock market index incurred more than 7% in losses in the last month, digital assets remained relatively stable, with Bitcoin (BTC) dropping only a modest 0.41% to $66,203.

Furthermore, along with demonstrating arguably surprising resilience, cryptocurrencies are expected to face multiple tailwinds in the near future, amidst a warm regulatory and legislative climate and proposals to open the 401(k) to them.
Under the circumstances, Finbold decided to consult ChatGPT’s advanced AI about which digital assets offer the highest potential returns if purchased in April 2026.
ChatGPT assesses the cryptocurrency market ahead of April
The first thing OpenAI’s flagship did when seeking cryptocurrencies to recommend for April was examine the state of the digital assets market at the end of March, with a particular note on the sharp BTC drop from the late 2025 highs.
Indeed, ChatGPT concluded that an attempt at finding the market bottom might be at play while highlighting that a mix of fear and fearful neutrality dominates investor sentiment. However, the AI also pointed toward the fact that there has been notable capital concentration in major coins and tokens and that Bitcoin appears to be stabilizing.
Thus, ChatGPT described the market at the gates of April as offering ‘a high-probability accumulation window if a bottom is forming.’

ChatGPT recommends buying Bitcoin in April
Following the wider analysis, OpenAI’s flagship model swiftly recommended Bitcoin itself as an April cryptocurrency investment.
ChatGPT described the digital asset as a ‘dominant capital magnet’ that acts as a strong hedge and is the top candidate for leadership in a possible recovery in the coming month.
The AI closed its recommendation by emphasizing that buying Bitcoin is not optional for cryptocurrency investors in April, but ‘mandatory.’

ChatGPT recommends buying Ethereum in April
For Ethereum (ETH), ChatGPT highlighted its relatively low price – ETH is, at press time, changing hands at $2,038 – and its strong fundamentals, thus positioning it as an especially enticing opportunity.
Simultaneously, the AI noted the heightened on-chain activity but also highlighted that risks such as the dominant bearish sentiment, large recent drawdown, and underperformance relative to Bitcoin persist.
Ultimately, OpenAI’s flagship model concluded that Ethereum is a strong buy as, should a recovery truly come in April, it has good odds of flipping the script and outperforming BTC.

ChatGPT recommends buying Solana in April
Elsewhere, ChatGPT pointed toward Solana (SOL) as a strong April cryptocurrency pick, calling it ‘one of the few altcoins still seeing meaningful flows.’
Simultaneously, the AI noted that a key narrative of Solana as the ‘next-gen chain’ remains ‘intact’ and that SOL has the potential to make more aggressive moves than either Bitcoin or ETH.
Still, ChatGPT cautioned that the token is more sensitive to shocks than its bigger peers while describing it as an ‘asymmetric bet,’ though it highlighted it is still a good buy for April for its potential to outperform ‘majors.’

ChatGPT cautions against investing in XRP this April
Lastly, OpenAI’s flagship took the time to caution against investing in XRP. According to ChatGPT, the token issued by Ripple suffers from a ‘structurally weak trend,’ a historical dependence on regulators, and deteriorating sentiment.

In almost the same breath, the AI also advised against investing in smaller altcoins, making the argument that, in a nutshell, the risks associated with them far outweigh any rewards that can reasonably be expected.
