New Comments from Strategy CEO Phong Le: “Bitcoin Offers Asymmetric Risk-Reward”
Strategy CEO Phong Le made important remarks about the company’s Bitcoin (BTC) strategy and the impact of cryptocurrencies on traditional finance during a program he participated in.
Le described Bitcoin not just as an asset, but as “the digital transformation of capital,” noting that this technology offers investors an asymmetric risk-return profile.
“What Netflix, Apple, and Tesla are in their respective fields, Bitcoin is too”
Phong Le argued that Bitcoin is achieving in the capital markets what companies like Netflix, Apple, and Tesla, which have spearheaded major technological transformations throughout history, have done in their respective fields.

Le also touched upon the strategy of companies holding Bitcoin on their balance sheets, reminding that Strategy embarked on this path in 2020. Highlighting the desire for “asymmetric returns” underlying institutional investors’ interest in Bitcoin, the CEO noted that many institutions believe in Bitcoin’s long-term upside potential but are wary of short-term volatility. According to Le, when combined with proper risk management, Bitcoin becomes one of the strongest treasury assets for institutions.
Le acknowledged that Bitcoin’s ownership and storage processes (such as the use of cold wallets) may still seem complex to some investors, but argued that new tools on the market have removed this barrier to access. Stating that the Bitcoin ecosystem is becoming democratized, Le emphasized that this asset class offers an opportunity not only for large institutions but also for any individual, regardless of income level, who wants to protect and grow their wealth.
